Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides accessible, confidential, brief,
student-centered mental health support, including same-day crisis intervention. CAPS
helps students address concerns that may affect their academic success, personal well-being,
and overall college experience.
A central part of CAPS services is helping students identify the type and level of
support that best meets their needs. Through assessment and consultation, CAPS may
recommend brief, intervention-focused counseling; support from a CAPS Mental Health
Peer; other campus-based resources; or connection to community providers for ongoing,
specialized, or longer-term care. When outside services are recommended, CAPS can
assist students in identifying and connecting with appropriate resources.
CAPS welcomes all students seeking mental health support and is committed to providing
services that are respectful, inclusive, and responsive to each student’s individual
experiences, identities, and needs.
